pam_organ.jpgMusic is a very important part of Hibben United Methodist Church's spiritual expression, and those who participate enjoy a very special experience. All are invited and encouraged to become involved in this exciting program. If you are interested, please contact the church office at (843) 884-9761 and make arrangements to visit with our Choir Director, Scott Brunson, and with our Organist, Pam Brunson.

Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir provides a wide variety of types of choral music for the regular Sunday services as well as special music for services during Advent andchoirrequim.jpg Easter. The Chancel Choir sings each Sunday except for those Sunday's with special children's programs. Its membership is made up of persons with a wide variety of musical skills and experience; some do not read music at all; others read music, but with some limitations; still others are trained musicians with considerable background in choral music. This photo shows the choir performing Mozart's Requim.
 
Auditions are not required and persons interested in joining the choir should come to its regular Wednesday evening rehearsals at 7:30 PM.

 

 

 

Youth Choir

The Youth Choir is available for 7th - 12th grade young people. This group offers a threat-free and accepting environment for young people to learn choral singing and the opportunity to be a part of the Sunday worship service on special occasions.

Children's Choir

The Children's Choir is for children 4 years old through 6th grades. The children learn various Christian music that is sung during the year for church worship services. 

Hibben Bells

Hibben Bells is an adult Bell choir They play on special occasions as part of the Sunday worship service. The Bells practice on Wednesday afternoons at 6:15 PM in the Music Room of the Barton Wing. Musical experience is not necessary. Contact the church office at (843) 884-9761 for more information.

Special Music

The Chancel Choir often performs major works for special services and seeks and encourages persons who would like to sing with it, but who do not feel able to commit themselves on a regular basis, to join the choir for these special occasions. Rehearsals for such music are usually held for a half hour weekly for six weeks prior to the service.
 
Other special music offered at Hibben includes vocal and instrumental solos, and a variety of guest soloists.
