Gift Hope – Not Junk
Hibben United Methodist Church would like to invite you to be a part of a special mission fair this Christmas season. For the month of December, we are hosting an alternative gift-buying event called “Gift Hope.” Individuals will get a chance to learn more about the work of various charitable organizations in our community and will have the opportunity to “shop” for items to help our local non-profits.
The online-only event will start on Giving Tuesday – Dec. 3, and run through Dec. 31. In order to give online, click the “Purchase Gifts” button at the top of the page. You’ll be asked to register for the event before being directed to the gifts page where you’ll complete your transaction. A tax-deductible receipt will be emailed to you.

Doors to Freedom provides safe places for survivors of sex trafficking to experience a transformed life. We do this by lovingly supporting each individual as she overcomes her traumatic past and receives total restoration: body, soul, and spirit. We are committed to providing a place for these girls to call home. Through academic education, life skills, personal growth, and vocational training, she will find a new life, restored hope, and a beautiful future.

East Cooper Habitat for Humanity serves the communities east of the Cooper River and select areas of Berkeley County in South Carolina. Founded on January 31, 1990, we believe that having access to safe and affordable housing is a basic human right. Therefore, while we celebrate with the 81 families that have received new homes and the over 60 families that have received critical home repairs, we know we can’t stop working.

Since 1896, Epworth has been a place for children to grow, learn and be loved. Children ages 12 and up come to us from severely stressed family systems and our goal is to nurture and love them by providing education, counseling, medical care and spiritual enrichment. Our aim is to break the destructive cycle of abuse, neglect and shame and replace it with an opportunity for each child to live a life of self-respect, responsibility and productivity. Epworth is licensed by the SC Department of Social Services and is recognized as a 501(c)(3) private, child and family service organization. We are also members by the United Methodist Association of Health & Welfare Ministries.

We support the vulnerable and unhoused populations by empowering those in crisis to navigate the very complex ecosystem of organizations that provide services they need to rebuild a sustainable, independent life for themselves and their families; while advocating for significant ecosystem improvement.
There is no criteria to be met to receive our support, we do not turn anyone away. We generally see two groups within our clientele. First, being individuals and veterans experiencing chronic homelessness, serious mental health issues and/or addiction problems; and second being low-wealth families with children lacking sufficient support and stability.

Operation Vet-Fit’s mission is to assist our nation’s combat veterans, active duty members and affected family members through advocacy, mental health services, fitness, and camaraderie based motivational activities and events. With a goal of zero suicides, Operation Vet-Fit is accomplishing it’s mission by helping to rebuild that sometimes lost sense of purpose while fostering a healthy transition after combat service. We serve as a free mental health care provider for our members and a liaison supporting combat veterans with service connected disabilities by assisting in the process of locating, accessing, and navigating the many currently available veteran benefits and programs being offered. “Serving as an incubator for the redevelopment of purpose” – Dan Gaita, Founder
